Tomorrow is Father's Day. All father's are celebrated whether or not they have great relationships with their children. Dads have a responsibility that most cherish, with or without the moms that are involved. Some dads are close by and some are far away. Fathers love their children, even in the most irrational of circumstances. We often forget that most men shoulder the responsibility of their families, and can't fully participate in their children's lives because of duty to the family. Other fathers aren't allowed to watch their kids grow up due to ugliness in an adult relationship. Whatever the reason, whatever the situation, all fathers are fathers for a reason. We can't take that away from them, nor should anyone try. The Tooth Fairy is a close, personal friend of mine. She is lovely. Generous is only one way to describe her gifts. I remember when I was young and she would visit me until I reached the day when I needed braces. At that point, I didn't need her again, there were others who required her attention. But, now I desperately wish she would visit my house and drop off a quarter or two. Okay, so you know the song, "Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime." It's a one-hit-wonder sung by the Jamies, but you can at least sing the chorus. This is the one tune that ushers in most summer plans, in my opinion. |
