Okay, so you know the song, "Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime." It's a one-hit-wonder sung by the Jamies, but you can at least sing the chorus. This is the one tune that ushers in most summer plans, in my opinion.
To make summer great, Jacob's grandparents have energetically enrolled him in vacation bible school, swimming lessons and the occassional tea party, hosted by members of the Red Hat Society of Weatherford. And when he gets home, I have the pleasure of watching a 6-year-old storyteller of the highest caliber. He flails his arms, jumps up and down, opens and shuts his eyes to punctuate the story, and points out the parts that he wants me to remember. The truth of what really happened is somewhere between the lines, but with an imigination like his, it's more fun to enjoy what he has to say. I tell you this because in the last few weeks, Jacob has talked with Jesus, ridden aboard a pirate ship, and had tea with the queen. All of which happened during his Gamma's watch. He's pretty lucky. Summer is off to a great start!
Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime. Gotcha! You'll be singing that all day long.
