For two days, I have had the pleasure of watching Jacob learn from his mistake. This is the very first time that he has actually realized that he made a huge error. And it has paid off!
Wednesday night at church, Jacob was asked repeatedly, "What did you do?"
To each inquiry, he politely answered, "I fell off my mom's treadmill." He explained how it happened and how much it hurt. I was amazed that when he told the story over and over, he looked that person in the eye and told them step-by-step, how he came to have the burns and scrapes.
The time that we have with our children is soooooo short. When my sons have "light bulb" moments, I realize that even though I am learning how to be a parent every day, occassionally I get it right.
This is one of those times.
